Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts that can provide natural healing. Both eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils have been found helpful in alleviating sinus congestion. To take advantage of this benefit, simply add a few drops of either essential oil to a bowl of steaming water and inhale deeply for a few minutes. If you suffer from headaches, you may want to try lavender essential oil, which can lessen stress and anxiety. For minor body aches and pain, apply a few drops of peppermint oil directly to the skin and gently massage it into the tissues.
