3 Tips for Great Skin Year Round

Last updated 7 years ago

If you feel like treating yourself, then spa sanctuaries are a great place for skin care, massage, and treatments that will keep your skin looking healthy.  But in between your trips to the spa sanctuary, consider these three tips that will keep your skin looking great year-round.

1.      Cosmeceuticals: Your skin care products are very important! When shopping, try to get products that have natural actives, vitamins, and minerals, and a good delivery system in which the product penetrates deep into the skin. These products are called cosmeceuticals.

2.      Wash and Moisturize: It’s very important to wash and moisturize your skin, no matter what season you are in. Often, our skin dries out in the winter, so take care to be extra diligent on applying moisturizer. Do not sleep in your makeup, and wash your face before you sleep. While you’re sleeping, your skin will naturally find the minerals it needs for restoration. But if you sleep in makeup, it makes restoration much more difficult!

3.      Eat Well: Your diet plays a huge role in how your skin looks. When eating, try to stay away from starches and sugars and instead fill your diet with antioxidents that are full of Vitamins A, C, and E. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins (carrots, mangoes, broccoli, tomatoes) will greatly improve the way your skin and the rest of your body looks.

Other tips include not smoking, managing your stress level, and of course using sunscreen when you’re outdoors.
